About this calculator

Wedding timelines built from vendor-quoted durations without buffer almost always run late, because getting-ready delays, photo transitions, and guest movement between locations eat time that no single vendor's estimate accounts for. This calculator takes the sum of your scheduled block durations and applies buffer percentages by block type — hair/makeup and family formals need the most padding, ceremony and toasts need the least — to output a realistic total day length and a suggested vendor end time.

Why does the photo block need the most buffer?

A 25%-30% buffer on this block is standard advice from wedding planners and photographers alike.

How much time should I budget for transitions between locations?
