How country-level YouTube RPM works
YouTube pays creators based on advertiser bids per impression — and those bids vary by where the viewer is, not where the channel is registered. A US-based viewer typically generates 10–20× the ad revenue of a viewer in India or Indonesia.
Tier-1 markets (US, UK, AU, DE, the Nordics) command the highest CPMs because finance, insurance, SaaS, and DTC advertisers compete aggressively for that inventory. Tier-3 markets have huge audiences but a thinner advertiser base — your effective CPM there is a fraction of US levels.
The country calculators above use creator-reported RPMs (low / typical / high) per market, then apply niche multipliers so a finance channel in Germany isn't priced like a vlog channel in Brazil. See methodology for sourcing and refresh cadence, or the 2026 RPM-by-country data study for the underlying dataset.
Don't know your audience split?
Open YouTube Studio → Analytics → Audience → Geography. The top country in your watch-time chart is the one to model first. Then run a second pass against your second-largest country to bracket the realistic range.
