Editorial policy

The standards we hold ourselves to when writing guides, picking benchmarks, and ranking tools.

Independence

Advertisers cannot buy coverage on RevenueLab.fyi. Display advertising (via Google AdSense) is automated and does not influence which calculators we build, what benchmarks we publish, or which tools we recommend. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled "Sponsored" at the top of the page.

Fact-checking

Every guide and benchmark goes through a two-step check before publishing:

  1. Source check — every quantitative claim links to or cites a primary source.
  2. Operator check — at least one practitioner in the relevant niche reviews the numbers for plausibility.

Sources

We prioritize, in order: (1) primary platform data (YouTube, Google Ads, Shopify, etc.), (2) independent industry research firms, (3) operator surveys and interviews, and (4) reputable trade publications. We avoid citing second-hand summaries when the primary source is available.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Material corrections are noted in a "Corrections" line at the bottom of the affected page with the date of the correction. Typos and minor copy edits are made silently.

Advertising disclosure

RevenueLab.fyi displays advertising served by Google AdSense. These ads are labeled and served programmatically — we do not control which advertisers appear. See our privacy policy for details on advertising cookies and how to opt out of personalized ads.

Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links to third-party tools are affiliate links — if you click through and purchase, RevenueLab may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to tools we have personally used or vetted. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial coverage; we'll happily recommend a non-affiliate tool over an affiliate one if it's the better choice.

AI-assisted writing

We sometimes use AI tools to draft, outline, or proofread content. Every published article and calculator description is reviewed and edited by a human, fact-checked against primary sources, and signed off before publishing. We do not publish unedited AI output.
