FAQ
What bitrate should I export for YouTube?
YouTube's own guidance is roughly 8 Mbps for 1080p30, 12 for 1080p60, 35–45 for 4K30, and 53–68 for 4K60 in SDR. Uploading higher costs you nothing but time — YouTube re-encodes anyway.
Why is my camera file so much larger than my export?
Camera codecs like ProRes or 10-bit All-I run at 200–800 Mbps because they are optimized for editing, not delivery. Delivery codecs like H.264/H.265 use inter-frame compression at a fraction of the data rate.
