FAQ
Why not assume every no-show loses 100% of the slot?
Practices with a waitlist or same-day callers can often refill part of a canceled slot, especially with more than a day's notice. The unfilled-probability input lets you reflect how effective your front desk is at backfilling, which varies a lot by practice and by how last-minute the cancellation was.
What no-show rate is considered normal?
5-8% is typical for general dental and veterinary practices with a confirmation system in place. Above 10% usually points to a specific problem: a payer population without reliable transportation, poor reminder timing, or a scheduling gap between when patients book and when they're seen.
What reduces no-shows most reliably?
Two-way text confirmations sent 48 and 24 hours out, a small deposit or card-on-file policy for high-value procedures, and calling patients who've no-showed twice before booking a third time all measurably cut the rate.
