FAQ

Why is the ramp so much longer than the rise?

ADA slope guidance calls for at least 1 foot of ramp per inch of rise (1:12), so even a modest 24-30 inch porch height needs a 24-30 foot ramp — steeper ratios shorten the ramp but make it harder and less safe to use, especially for manual wheelchairs.

Is renting a ramp cheaper than buying?

For short-term recovery (a few months), renting a modular aluminum ramp is usually far cheaper than buying and installing a permanent one; for long-term or permanent accessibility needs, buying is more cost-effective over a year or more.

Does Medicare or insurance cover ramp cost?
