About this calculator

Round tables seat 8 to 10 comfortably, long banquet tables seat 8, and every layout needs aisle and service space. This converts a guest list into a table count, linen order, and required square footage.

FormulaTables = ceil(guests ÷ seats per table); floor space = guests × sq ft per guest by layout.

FAQ

How many people fit at a 60-inch round?

Eight is comfortable and ten is tight. Ten works when the centerpiece is elevated and the service is plated rather than family style.

Does the floor space include the dance floor?

The dinner-plus-dance option adds roughly 3 sq ft per guest, which covers a floor sized for about 40 percent of guests dancing at once.
