About this calculator
This calculator takes a target date and time and computes the total hours remaining, then estimates how many actual working hours you have available if you exclude weekends and non-working hours, giving a more realistic view of your real crunch time than a plain day count.

FAQ
How many hours until my deadline?
A deadline 6 days away has 144 total hours remaining; if you only work 8-hour weekdays, that's roughly 32-40 actual working hours depending on how the weekdays fall.
Why does working hours differ so much from total hours?
Total hours counts every hour including nights and weekends, while working hours only counts the time you're actually productive — a 6-day deadline can look like plenty of time in total hours but be tight in real working hours.
Should I build in a buffer before the actual deadline?
Yes — treat your real internal deadline as at least 10-20% earlier than the stated one to leave room for review, revisions, and unexpected delays.
Does this account for holidays?
No — this simplified model only excludes weekends; manually subtract additional working hours for any holidays that fall within your remaining weekdays.
Accuracy and limitations
- Estimates assume standard, average conditions — local rules, pricing, and materials vary.
- Results are rounded for readability; add a buffer before ordering, booking, or committing.
- Double-check anything with a real cost attached against a local quote.
