How does the fence post, panel & cost calculator work?
Post spacing sets everything else. Eight-foot spacing is the default for wood privacy fence; six feet is better in high-wind areas. The underlying maths is: Posts = length ÷ spacing + 1; pickets = length × 12 ÷ (picket width + gap).
