FAQ

Is 55 lb per hive realistic?

For an established colony in a decent flow, yes. First-year packages often produce nothing surplus because the bees need their stores to overwinter.

Biggest hidden cost?

Winter losses. Budget 15–30% colony replacement annually and the economics change substantially.

Accuracy and limitations

  • Estimates assume standard, average conditions — local rules, pricing, and materials vary.
  • Results are rounded for readability; add a buffer before ordering, booking, or committing.
  • Double-check anything with a real cost attached against a local quote.
