Pregnancy Due Date Calculator

Estimate your due date and current gestational age from the first day of your last period, adjusted for cycle length.

Short answer

Pregnancy Due Date Calculator

220Days until due date

Only about 4% of babies arrive on the estimated due date; roughly 80% arrive between 37 and 41 weeks. You have about 31.4 weeks to go. A first-trimester ultrasound is accurate to within about five days and supersedes this estimate.

How it's calculated: Gestational age 8w 4d — First trimester. Due date is 280 days after your last period started. Adjust the inputs below to recalculate for your own numbers.

Disclaimer: Educational estimate only — not medical advice. An ultrasound performed by your provider dates a pregnancy far more accurately than any last-period calculation, especially with irregular cycles. Always confirm dating and all pregnancy decisions with your obstetric provider.

Formula used

Naegele's rule with cycle adjustment

Naegele's rule assumes ovulation on day 14 of a 28-day cycle. Longer cycles push ovulation later, so the due date shifts by the difference.

Why dating matters

Gestational age drives everything from screening windows to decisions about induction. That is why providers re-date a pregnancy when an early ultrasound disagrees with the last-period estimate by more than about a week.

  • Term is 37–42 weeks; 39–40 weeks is considered full term.
  • Irregular cycles make last-period dating unreliable — get an early scan.
  • Anatomy scans are typically scheduled at 18–22 weeks.

FAQ

How is a due date calculated?

By adding 280 days to the first day of your last menstrual period, adjusted for cycle length. This tool applies that adjustment automatically.

How accurate is a due date?

It is a midpoint, not a deadline. About 80% of births occur within the three weeks either side, and only about 4% happen on the exact date.

What if my cycles are irregular?

Last-period dating becomes unreliable. A first-trimester ultrasound is the accurate method and your provider will use it to set the official date.
