How brand deals actually flow in India
Mumbai-based agencies — Monk Entertainment (Viraj Sheth / Ranveer Allahbadia), Opraahfx (CarryMinati's agency), Collective Artists Network — handle most top-tier brand-deal flow. Indian creator brand-deal CPMs sit at roughly 1/3 of US equivalents in absolute INR but 2–3× faster YoY growth.
What's structurally unique about India
India is the only top-10 creator market where vernacular-language (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi) content commands a premium over English on AdSense — non-English Indian channels routinely hit higher RPMs because advertiser competition for vernacular inventory is structurally tighter.
Tax regime — India
Self-employment income reported as business/professional income under Section 44ADA (presumptive — 50% of receipts deemed profit) up to ₹75 lakh turnover. Above that, full accounting. Income tax slabs 5–30% plus 4% cess; new regime widely preferred for creators. US–India treaty caps US withholding at 15% via W-8BEN — skipping W-8BEN is the single most expensive error for Indian creators. See /youtube-payout/india.
