  "summary": "Model the score impact of paydown, time, and clean payment history.",
  "description": "No calculator can predict a credit score, because the models are proprietary and depend on the full contents of your file. What you can model honestly is direction and rough magnitude, and that is what this tool does: it weighs the factors lenders publish as most influential — payment history, revolving utilization, age of accounts, recent inquiries, and derogatory marks — and estimates a plausible range after the changes you plan. Use it to prioritise, not to predict. The typical finding is that utilization moves fastest (one statement cycle), late payments fade slowly, and new accounts cost a little now for more capacity later.",
  "formula": "Weighted factor model: payment history 35%, utilization 30%, account age 15%, credit mix 10%, new credit 10%, scaled to a 300–850 range with an uncertainty band.",

    {
      "q": "Should I close old cards?",
      "a": "Usually no. Closing reduces total limits, raising utilization, and eventually shortens average account age."
