The catch is that a 2,500 square foot house does not have a 2,500 square foot roof: pitch adds surface area, so a 6/12 roof over that footprint is closer to 2,800 square feet of actual deck. This calculator applies your roof pitch factor, adds a waste allowance for hips, valleys, and starter courses, and returns bundle count, squares, underlayment rolls, and an installed cost estimate at your local per-square rate.",
